Gardeners Steer Manure is the best buy!
Now you'll be lucky if your nursery carries this brand of steer manure. Mine does! I just bought three more sacks of it because it is the best I have found. The steer manure is really composted and doesn't have a bunch of filler to add bulk and weight without any nutrients.
Many of the brands I have tried are really disappointing. Even the high end bat guano which, is suppossedly high nitrogen, comes mixed with bark chips. Gardeners is finely screened and has no visible fillers. It looks like really good quality compost and smells sweet. I've looked online and can find no resource which sells it, but Lowe's advertises it so I would look there to find it.
My nursery had a 2 cubic foot bag for $2.59. A real bargain! Lowe's has one cubic foot for $1.25.

Oh my goodness, you are right on! This manure is THE sh**!!! I have been lovin it for quite some time, using it to grow my lawn, as it's golden goodness and wholesome lively aroma attest to it's superior quality, and it is HALF price of the others!
Last night We had a last rain coming for a while, and I sowed my last grass seed, and went down to my nursery for some cover, afraid of what I'd find because the chain (Navlet's) had been bought by Sloat Nursery and just reopened. They said they only had 1 cf bags of a different brand for $3.99 each! Dam**t! But after loading up, I noticed they had a half-pallet left of the goods (2 cf bags) off to the side! I said get this crap out of my van, and put that in there! It was the same price, so double the product, and so much better. I will buy the remainder if I can, but then what??? I guess I'd better look it up at Lowes... Big mistake Sloat!!! I will petition for reinstatement! Long live Gardeners Steer Manure!!!!

You mentioned Bat guano, why on earth would anyone use that? It's dangerous! I have also heard of using human waste, is the organic world going crazy along with the GMO crowd? sheeesh!
